Complement's objective has always been clear: to offer an e-learning experience as natural and fluid as an exchange with a real teacher . And sometimes, that means knowing when... not to answer a question.
It all started with user feedback received during the beta testing phase: "I feel like the avatar doesn't understand when I talk to it."
Intrigued, we went to see what had happened, and thanks to the module's dashboard, we quickly understood. The student in question wasn't asking course-related questions, but commands :
"Go to the next slide," "speak faster," "start again"..
To which our poor avatar replied, very politely: "That's an excellent question, let me look in my documents..."
Needless to say, the immersive experience was nowhere near that.
But this was not an isolated case. In the feedback from our first beta testers , a trend quickly emerged: users spoke naturally to the avatar to give it instructions , as if it could already understand "pause", "next slide", "speak more slowly" .
It was in the dashboard of each module —where all user questions are displayed—that this need became clearly apparent. There, one found numerous phrases that were not questions, but commands , to which the AI didn't know how to respond… or even gave a completely irrelevant answer.
In short, everyone thought voice commands already existed . So it was time to make them a reality!

With voice commands, your learners can now interact with the avatar in a much more fluid and natural way . They are no longer limited to content questions. They can also manage the pace and navigation of their training using voice commands.
Need to take a break? Go back to the previous slide? Speak faster?
AI understands them, and adapts in real time.
All this without raising your hand, without searching for a button, and above all without breaking the flow of learning .
It's a small detail, but it changes everything. Being able to say "repeat" , "next chapter" or "speak more slowly" brings us even closer to what we would do in person with a trainer.
And when you can even tell him to "hang up" at the end of the module, you are touching on an almost organic, fluid, frictionless interaction.
This is a small revolution in the way we experience an e-learning module, and this is just the beginning.
Voice commands are already enabled on all new modules created on Complement. They work without additional configuration, directly within the learner interface.
This is another step towards our mission: to make online learning lively, interactive and human.
